Hello everyone,
On Friday I saw Don the eel man came to teach us about eel,
He knows alot and I mean a lot he was a scientist he told us that a longfin eel that only live in waihora in the neighbourhood was two meters long! and twenty four kilograms that is gigantic eels can live for a long time approximately 120 years how can we tell there ear bones there ear bones have rings on it and each year they add a ring to their ear bone obviously they need to kill the eel to do this that's why they do it to dead eels☠ not alive eels because you'd have to kill it and they've got a pretty long life to live and they need to be ready to make it to tonga so they need a lot of feeding to do.Once I saw an eel in the water actually leave the lake it's in and take a duck egg from the nest on the ground and pull it back down to the water to feed on it was quite strange but those eels are quite smart according to Don (the eel man) eels suck up their small prey but with big prey they go up to it bits it locks it jaw into position and spin around until something comes off they prey! This was great fun to listen to thanks to Don thanks for watching and peace out!😎
